CP Prima Shrimp Culture Symposiums at Serpong and Surabaya

In responding to various challengers in shrimp farming in Indonesia, PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk (CP Prima) is again holding the annual National Shrimp Symposium 2022 with the theme "Suitable Strain Battling Hard Custure" which will be held in two different locations, namely in Serpong, South Tangerang, Banten, Monday (31/10/2022) and Surabaya, East Java, Friday (4/11/2022). President Dirctor of PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk, Mr. Hendri Laiman, said that the symposium aims to provide technical knowledge on shrimp farming, starting from selecting broddstock and producing qualify fry, mapping and handling shrimp diseases, to prospects and sustainable shrimp farming. 

“Diseases and cultivation challenges are always there, because challenges make our lives more colorful. So we give applause to fellow cultivators who are still holding out in the midst of a rather tough cultivation situation. They are one of the supply chains on how we can increase shrimp exports," said mr. Hendri Laiman in his speech in Serpong.    

Director General of Aquaculture, KKP, Tb Haeru Rahayu, who was the main speaker at the symposium, acknowledged that there are many challenges in running shrimp farming in Indonesia. One of the obstacles is the Standard Operationg Procedure (SOP) for shrimp farming that has not been implemented optimaly by cultivators.

Fariyanto Suyapto, Marketing and Business Development SF PT Central Proteina Prima Tbk, explained that the theme for this years's symposium was chosen regarding parental strains that are suitable for cultivation conditions in Indonesia because cureently it that become a concern for cultivators to find out more details about parental strains and this has become one of the determining factors in current cultivation strategics.

On the same accasion, Hery Wong as head of National Probiotic Marketing at PT Sinar Hidup Satwa (SiHS) added that this symposium focuses on selecting broodstock that are suitable for Indonesian conditions. According to him, with the current bad condition of shrimp farming, the symposium is expected to help cultivators survive and become better in the future.

The speaker who gave the material was Dr. Harris Benedict Wright (United States Shrimp Geneticist), Dr. Heny Budi Utari and Guruh Suryawan, S.Pi (CP Prima Shrimp Cultivation Expert).
